I saw this item in the Scottish Daily Mail this morning - he goes to ASDA every day and I bet that he isn't being paid.

Maybe he should get his friend to sort ASDA out.

You made him look pretty - has he 'been' yet? Is he a nice cat? It is good that he has settled in and this will help your young lady too.
I had to go and get stitches out of my arm this morning, I have been home for about 2 hours and neither of them have come downstairs to speak to me. I heard Frankie screaming obscenities from the top landing earlier but I just ignored him.

petal54 - maybe that is what I did wrong.
After 24 years (and 33 days) of working I had to admit defeat (on health grounds) and accept early retirement (at 40!). For the first year I wasn't very well and my moggie at the time and I spent most of the day together. If I went out I would be met at the door upon my return - with a single meow and a rummage through my bags.
About a year later (January 2005)I decided that I should do some voluntary work. My first shift was a long one and when I got home I expected a nice greeting. He just stood there and gave me a lecture "mew meow chirp meow..." it actually went on for a minute or two. Then he stomped off and ignored me until feeding time.
The two that I have now just ignore me when I initially get home and then come to see what I have bought for them a short time later.
I can understand why some people dislike cats. ;-)

We had a cat that came into the library on a regular basis for about 12 years. She was absolutely lovely and just seemed to want company - any attempts to give her food were ignored, but she did love lots of cuddles. She'd sleep on a chair or sit on he counter and greet customers and was quite a celebrity. Whenever her owner was looking for her we were his first post of call. Sadly she died last year, but we have photos displayed of her sitting on the counter that a customer took and had printed off for us. I miss her :(
karen - I think that you missed an opportunity to make money.

There are many stories of cats doing un-catlike things. Some get on a bus into town on a regular basis, turn up at a garage at break time, visit the library for a cuddle ........ the list is endless.
My two sleep ... eat ... fight .... sleep ... destroy the house .... eat and maybe another fight !
