My Grandad's going in for a full body scan this week after preliminary tests showed that he might have a tumour in his bowel. As you might expect he's been told not to run and now can't join me in the Marathon, he's gutted!
Anyway, my aunty is running it and usually runs with my Grandad of a Saturday morning.
She was quite surprised to get a call yesterday from my Grandad saying "I'll probably meet you by Arrowe Park gates (where they usually meet) about half ten, but I've just got to find out if I have cancer first so I'll let you know"! As if it was a waiting for a parcel or something!
The man's a legend!! Although it's not the best idea to go against doctors orders, we all know that not being able to run would be worse for him than any cancer could be!
thanks all, he has been told that there's plenty that can be done if it does come to the worst, it was a sickening shock to hear that at first but we're trying to keep as positive as possible and him being typical him does help a lot!
As ever, I am following Mamya around and agree with everything she says ;) More power to your winged heels, Paul and all good wishes to your grandad too ♥
