Does anyone know why you cannot fix a doorbell to UPVC. It states in the instructions that you cannot do this but i dont understand why.
Thanks to any replies
Hi SlackAlice, yes it's the push button, it does state in the instructions not to fix it to UPVC. This new Siemmans door bell must be the 5th in about 2 years as they all break down. We dont have much luck with door bells so went without one for a while but when i saw this Siemmans, it screamed "buy me", its a nice looking thing. Oh well, i shall stick it to the UPVC and see what happens. Thanks for the reply
Because the doors have moving metal locking/latching components inside the sections. You could not run a wire through or screw through some areas.
Fix to the frame side somewhere.
i bought mother in law a wireless chime ,mains operated, and no way would it work on the upc door when it was shut only when the door was open, i presume it was being shielded by some metal parts in side the door and yes cupid we've gone for a knocker too
As we are talking about door bell. I like to ask a question from you that which doorbell do you prefer more, a simple doorbell system or a video door bell system. I think video door bell system is good because it helps to secure our home. We can see and even talk to the person without opening the door.
