One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well ... At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

Free your mind from worries - Most "worries" never actually happen.

Live simply and appreciate what you have.

ohhhh the different takes on this word is much better than the OP, lololol
From Adorno:

"A German is someone who cannot tell a lie without believing it himself."

He also writes expertly on The Odyssey and the concept of "NoMan" (Odysseus's name also translates as "Noman" he is at once the Hero, the Anti-Hero and no one).
Just for you Ed...

Morality makes stupid.-- Custom represents the experiences of men of earlier times as to what they supposed useful and harmful - but the sense for custom (morality) applies, not to these experiences as such, but to the age, the sanctity, the indiscussability of the custom. And so this feeling is a hindrance to the acquisition of new experiences and the correction of customs: that is to say, morality is a hindrance to the development of new and better customs: it makes stupid.

from Nietzsche's Daybreak,s. 19, R.J. Hollingdale transl.

I think Bobbi's donkey makes more sense
One from Nietzsche:

"A friend should be a master at guessing and keeping still: you must not want to see everything."

Naturally we should leave his later stuff alone. He had syphilis and his mad Nazi girlfriend took over much of the later writing under his name. A reason he is needlessly discredited by some.
Yep, in a way. He was a man for progress. He translates himself well with this:

"Morality is a hindrance to the development of new and better customs: it makes stupid."

Equally we can ask how something could be new without having a definitive "old" to kick against - how can you kick against a morality which accepts everything.
