husband assuault
My husband was given probation for assaulting me in feb. Just over a week ago he threw a huge hardback book at me and was arrested. He was not given bail and is on remand in prison. The reason he did these things is cos he drinks and has mental health problems. He is fine when he has not drank. He is due to go court soon and i would like to know will he get a custodial sentence. I really hope not as i miss him so much and he has agreed to get help. He cannot phone me but i can e mail him and messages get through his mum. If he does get sent back will i be able to visit him?

he did plead guilty and yes i did mean remand! i have been told that the time he has already served will be taken into account i just want him out of there! I do not know who his solicitor is i have tried to find this out from court etc but people have refused to tell me. i asked my mother in law to ask him who his solicitor is but he ran out of phone credit and was unable to tell her. sorry for being so vague but i really have not been able to find anything out. I do not think i can face going to the court to be honest.

He would be forbidden contact with you as he would fall under MAPPA (Multi Agency Public Protection guidelines) chapter 4 I think. As such if convicted and sentenced he would not be eligable for HDC (HOME DETENTION CURFEW) (TAG) Time for remand is no longer automatic as of 2008 and is considered if the Judge recommends
