I've just had a new turf lawn laid and already it has several brown patches where my neutered male dog has urinated. Is there anything I can do, either to stop him, neutralise his urine, or repair the damage. Many thanks in anticipation.

There is some sort of stone that has minerals in it that can stop this happening, i'm not sure what it's called but you could ask at a pet shop.
I have heard that if you put tomato ketchup in their food it helps...I don't know how much though, sorry.

Keep the dog off the lawn?
if you search for 'dog rocks' you'll find that you add this to the dogs water, and it neutralises the urine, not sure if it works though, may be worth a go!...

I googled "dog rocks" and it came up with "Did you mean Girls Aloud?"
That is very naughty Elvis! Sat here chuckling for ages tho!
My neutered male dog never pees on the lawn...............there's nowhere to cock his leg.
Train the dog to use a potty.Probem solved.
Btw, I always thought it was bitches urine that caused brown patches on lawns?
I think that's a fallacy slinky...........
Happy to be corrected Craft, just that my parents always watered the places where their collie bitch had weed, and still had brown patches on their lawn!

Curry Powder stops dogs from pooping & peeing on lawns & tarmac!

OK collett2 I have to be the one to ask....so where do they do it.?x
absolutely nothing you can do to prevent it. it's all down to the protein in the urine. various water and food additives have been tried and failed. The only sure way is to keep the dog off the area.
thought the curry powder worked for cats not dogs collette. my dog is a wierdo. he always wees like a bitch and wrecks the grass - can't in all honesty call it a lawn any longer.
