hi,
i love tuna steak in sunflower oil ( john west) though it is getting really expensive for me to buy, tuna steak in brine is a lot cheaper and i can buy this from poundstretcher and poundland etc.
i was wondering should i buy the tuna steaks / pieces in brine then buy a bottle of extra virgin olive oil then drain the brine from the tuna and then cover the tuna in olive oil ? i think it just tastes rough and dry in the brine, i like it with oil and can take it straight from the can this way. i need to start eating loads of tuna as i am training now and i need to eat healthy .
what do you think.? THANKS

Nice supper dish I make very quick and simple. tuna in oil ,tinned sweet corn ,cooked frozen peas, lightly fried chopped onion. Mix all together in large bowl, make white sauce and mix into other ingredients.Season well, and put into dish. Top with breadcrumbs and grated cheese. Then in oven for about half an hour. Serve with plain boiled rice and garlic bread if liked. Just vary quantities for the number of people you are cooking for.
