Where can you can get Ink Cartridges

That don't cost an arm and a leg. Have a HP printer, and the Ink cartridges are very expensive, even looking on line i have seen few places that are cheaper. Anyone know, as can't keep using it at this rate.

If you have weekly local computer fairs, they prove to be far cheaper for cartridges.

Just bought some HP 364 cartridges for a friend other day(1x XL Fill Black, 11.99: Pack 4 standard set incl black £24.95 .. all free delivery)
Best value I could find then.
XL cartridge is around double the ink for about 3 quid more.

two printers, one for Photo's HP Photosmart, A618
and i ran out of the ink, so not sure which cartridge but 310 comes to mind

and the bigger printer is an HP Photosmart C3180 which currently has
Tesco own brand H210 colour and H150 black, which i was told wouldn't work because they were not HP cartridges, but they did.

have saved the various links into favourites and will certainly see who comes up cheapest. I was told by two well known electrical retailers, that you have to use HP cartridges, on HP printers, well Tesco ones worked ok, so thank you all, very helpful, now if you can tell me why i keep losing Internet explorer 8 that has crapped out 20 times in the last few days. I have been having a good look the diagnostic reports, oh joy, and found it has failed more often than worked, time to get on ISP, i think.

Have a look at computer magazines. "Computeractive!" has cartridge adverts near the back of every issue.

Hi em10...I've been using compatible inks of all varieties for years..all in spite of dire warnings from the printer manufacturers against the practice....never once had bad results and I've got them from carboots,fairs etc etc....

I paid less for a new printer with ink..than for a set of of Epson inks...sounds daft but quite true....

Just buy them where you find them...and get a spare set as and when you see them at the right price.

Just a bit of advice though...for really good prints..never economise on paper............up to now I find the best quality photos are on Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper, and I've tried most.

My latest printer is an HP wireless printer scanner copier and the best HP paper doesn't beat the Epson stuff.

Always use local cartridge world, have an HP printer and never had a problem with them

Hi em10..The idea behind the cheap printer/expensive ink?....it's based on the old safety razor concept of "give them the razor and you have a lifelong customer for the blades"
Unfortunately for them, along came cheap compatible inks ;-)

Em10, sorry I didn't reply quicker but fell asleep.
Under the sticky label of the colour cartridge, if you feel/press with your finger nail you will feel three holes about 3 mm across, probably in this triangular formation .'.
Stab the empty syringe through the label to open the holes and then use a wooden cocktail stick to check the ink colours of the individual holes.
The top hole will probably be for yellow ink. the left hole for magenta ink and the right hole for cyan ink but check before filling with any ink.
Colour cartridges hold about 3 cc of each colour and black cartridges hold about 10 cc of ink but they can vary.
The cartridges are full of sponge to hold the ink but if you fill past the sponge level, the ink will flood out so don't over fill.
I weigh my cartridges so that I know exactly how full/empty they are and therefore know just how much ink to use.
Refill on paper kitchen roll just in case of a spill and fill slowly to avoid bubbles. Take 15 seconds to empty each syringe full.
Always refill before they are completely empty to avoid them drying out.
Refill kits available from Tesco's, Asda and other cheap shops.

I don't fancy what could be a messy job re-filling catridges.

Consequently for my HP printer/scanner/copier I purchase refilled cartridges from Printerinks, who appear to be as cheap,if not cheaper than other firms. Normally a next day delivery and free of any postage.
