The ariel on my 1999 fiesta fell off recently and the thread on the screw was so old that when the nice young man at Halfords tried to get it out he totally stripped the thread, and found that it was lodged tight and he could not get it off! I have squirted it with WD40 and tried again, though without success. Is it just that the screw has been there so long it is stuck there, or will there be a bolt that I need to get to inside the roof of the car? Any tips on how I might shift this screw as the lack of reception on the radio is increasingly annoying! Many thanks

if he has stipped the thread, you should be able to remove it by prising the body away from the roof whilst turning the screw, if it still doesnt come away then there is probably a nut underneath.
