It is a great shame that every year we have to put up with a vast crowd at the Royal Albert Hall singing the wrong words to auld lang syne.
Nowhere in this wonderful anthem do the words "for the sake of" ever appear.
Correctly it is FOR AULD LANG SYNE....please will you all learn for his blessed memory (Robert Burns) to get it right!
For auld lang syne means for old times gone by.

I loved the Britten version of the Anthem - think they used it last year and it really should be more widely used - far more inspirational.
