I had 2 new front tyres put on my car a few months ago, and recently the steering wheel started shaking at around 65-70mph, I took it to the garage and had the wheels balanced , but now although the shaking isn't so bad, if I let go of the sterring wheel it pulls to the kerb and I always feel I am fighting the wheel to stay centre.

One of the tyres may be deformed/bulged but it's worth having inspected.
Additionally I would have the front wheel alignment checked. You may have knocked a kerb at some point and knocked it out of alignment.
Also wheels are often balanced by removing the wheel and balancing it. Some garages have a wheel balancer that will balance the wheel whilst it is on the hub. This has the added advantage of balancing the driveshaft, discs, hub etc.
