i dont know if i have to resit my test again, the judge at time did not tell me i had to resit my test but my licence is expired anyway so i need a new one. i will of course answer the insurance papers honestly as they will know anyway but is there anyway round this like get my name onto my brothers insurance, i mean get my car insured under my brothers name and him to name me as 2nd driver ? if insurance is too high then i,ll have to opt to get on the road with a scooter ;-)
what you suggest is called fronting and is illegal...and if they get suspicious and find out you will be in even more trouble
you could become a named driver on his insurance which would allow you to drive his car...but it will affect his insurance prices, so he may not want to do it...
actually you may be wise looking into the scooter option...or even a push bike

Most insurance companies ask if you have had any motoring convictions in the last 5 years. Since you are just finishing a 5 year ban it seems to me that, if you wait a couple of weeks after you get your licence back, you could answer "NO" to that question and therefore not declare the offence to the insurance company at all.
Or am I missing something here?
