Volunteering Abroad
I'm 20 years old and I am very interested in going abroad this summer to do volunteer work. I am most interested in caring for young children, perhaps in an orphanage setting. I have been looking on the internet for organisations that organise the trips, but there are so many! I was wondering whether anyone could give me any advice on where would be best to go? Which organisations are better than others??
Ive seen some websites with opportunities costing 1,200. Then others saying it will cost just 50 a week plus your flights for the same thing!
Any advice anyone could give me would be fantastic.
Thank you!

Be very wary of what you might be getting into if you go for a project with a charity you don't know anything about. You have used search criteria that might bring you into contact with some dodgy characters online - sadly, paedo's use charitable working abroad as a cover and a means of avoiding detection in Britain. Stick with VSO or one of the main charities like Save the Chidren. Apologies in advance to all the good nice people who work with disadvantaged children the world over, but this is the reality of the age we live in.
