Please can anyone tell me where i will find a list of hierarchy of doctors, im very confused (F1's, F2's, senior house officer, junior doctors etc etc)IN THE UK !! thankyou. :-)
Funnily enough, when visiting in hosp a few weeks back I asked an F2 what it meant (was on her id badge) - she replied foundation stage 2 which I already knew. She didn't seem keen to elaborate though
Doctors: lowest form of life in the hospital is House Surgeon or House Physician.
One year later they become Senior House Officers (stlll very junior) and then then one or more years later, they become registrars ( they are in training, surgical or medical)
Top of the registrar tree is the Senior Registrar who is waiting for a Consultant to die or retire.
sandy......LOL... so what! do you want to be operated upon by some little mousy creature who when he barked, nobody paid a jot of notice......not my style, never was and i never had any trouble with theatre nurses or junior doctors sticking with me.
