I purchased a battery operated micro shaver -very nasty product it was .I was surprised that no where on packaging were any details of manufacturer/supplier
Are goods sold in UK by law supposed to have makers details ? -this is first time i have purchased a product with no details

For example if you buy 'own brand' electrical goods from a supermarket there is usually no indication of who actually made the products. (They'll just be branded as, for example, "Tesco Saver").
When you buy anything in the UK, your contract is with the retailer, not with the manufacturer. If the product is faulty, or otherwise 'not fit for purpose', it's the retailer who must put things right. Even if you could contact the manufacturer about it, he could simply tell you (perfectly legally) to get stuffed.
