Sun Tunnels

I am thinking about getting and installing a Sun Tunnel in my bungalow .Has any one any comments about them ,are they worth the expense etc. Many thanks in anticipation.

Whenever possible (easier in a bungalow usually) I always go for a Velux ............ "tunnelled" down to the ceiling. Dramatic effect, and loads of light.
Sun-tubes can be ok if they're big enough (600mm maybe ....... 2').
The last time I saw one was in an enclosed landing. It was about 9" diameter, and looked like someone had left a very dim light on.

Some folks love them, but they always strike me as "second choice".

Yes .. they do indeed make a lot of difference .. especially to naturally dimly lit areas in existing plan.

Yes, they have to be a decent diameter .. and a good quality one.

I viewed a bungalow whose bathroom had no window, and the sun tunnel was amazing in that it was like there was a window in the room.

Sounds like to could be very nice.

Sun setting and the colours going into it, sun rise etc. etc.

Because it is vertical I don't think the colours would be there.

For as easy as they are to install, they produce quite a bit of light...
