Is there any way of restoring baking trays and roasting tins so they look silver again? I would like to get rid of the black and brown stains that regular washing cannot remove. Thanks x

sticking them in a sealed bin bag with some amonia (overnight) might do the job.  Although I couldnt say if that would take of the the original coating.  With baking trays once they get to that black stage I think your pretty much done for.
sorry, the link doesn't take you all the way. Click on kitchen and cookware on the left, then scroll down
Simply soaking them in a solution made up from soda crystals and boling water can woprk depending on how caked on the greese is.

Duzzit make a sponge which is a very fine abrasive, works on just about everything. Bought mine from one the 1 shops,
they are so good wrote to the company.
soak them in a sink of hot caustic soda.  Available from the Chemists shop.  Not a Aluminium sink though.
Give the Fairy Spray a whirl it is fairly good for removing grease.Good Luck
It doesn't matter what you try, when all is said and done, and after spending a fortune on miracle grease & stain removers, there is only one answer.

Chuck it in the bin and get yourself a new one.

It will probably be cheaper, and if not you still have a brand new sparkling baking tray that will take years to get back into that old condition.
