most cans i use have ring pull.
Get an electric one!

Being a lefty i've always struggled with can openers, but with a leccy one, you switch it on and bob's your uncle.
The last one I bought was about a tenner from Tesco. It's quite a chunky thing but it does a good job. It's lasted about 3 years so far. Do you give it a wash after you use it?
I need a new leccy one. The last one only lasted 20 years.

Bought one from Poundshop, which lifts the top of the tin off. Goes round in opposite directions, quite good for us lefties.

yea always wash it , might just get a leccy one if you say they are good . i have seen those ones in pound land too asumed cos they are a pound must be no good thanks guys
Can't comment on modern electric ones. I have been using the old 'butterfly' type made by Squires ever since I was a lad. They usually last me for about 10 years.
We had a leccy one as a joke gift last Christmas - I love it!
Oxo good grips . I bought one for my ma in law years ago .
I inherited it back when she died .Still going strong .Must be at least fifteen years old .
I broke my first £shop one. It was my fault and not the tin-opener. 2nd one is good. It's lasted for about 2 months now, but most of my cans are ring-pull.

If I lose the key off the corned beef or break a ring pull I just call on my OH to sort it out.

thanks eddie think i will get the electric one
Prince Philip - Where's the tin opener?
Queen - It's his day off.
I was going to suggest the Oxo Good Grips one too. If you buy it from lakeland it has a lifelong no quibble guarantee too, so if you manage to break another one you can return it!

I have arthritis in my hands, and the only can opener that works well for me is an electric one, it's really easy to use, that's the best one to buy!...

"CULINARE MagiCan auto". I bought this from a local kitchen ware shop here in Jersey Channel islands. Its the best i'v ever had - I have weak wrists so find most openers difficult, but this 1 is perfect.
