Downton Abbey ..

Although I enjoyed the first episode of the new series, I think the one fault of all the episodes so far of this drama, is the over familiarity of some of the servants with those above stairs ruining any credibility of the story lines. Surely, for example .. 'Mr Carson' giving relationship advice to 'Lady Mary Crawley' just wouldn't happen! Even if Downton Abbey was never meant to be 100% factual .. it should be believable?

Thanks for that hc4361. Sorry didn't know what AD meant until I googled it! It is a new TV and I shall investigate to see if this is the problem.

Stargazer, yes, I think it's over-rated too. I think the script is pretty naff, and some of the acting incredibly wooden.

Margie, I'm pleased someone else picked up on 'As if!' Painful!!

If this had been written by someone less influential, it wouldn't have had a hope of being screened.

Having said that, I watch it. :o)
