Moving to Bristol

My other half's job is moving to Bristol next year. Can anyone recommend the nicer areas to live in and around Bristol (Filton side) or know of any particularly good secondary schools as my daughter starts next September. Thanks in advance for your help.

The best parts to live are Westbury-on-Trym and Frenchay village. Bradley Stoke is a very built up area (a.k.a Tesco town). I've no idea about schools I'm afraid.
I would say to avoid Horfield and Southmead as they are a bit rough and ready. Good luck with the move etc!
