Any use for sugarbeet?

Mr O has discovered some sugarbeet growing amongst his beetroot on his allotment.
I think it tastes vile - any suggestions on what to do with it?

Don't, under any circumstances, try cooking it... at least in a closed house within 2 miles of neighbors....
Here in the western U.S. sugar beet farming is a big, big business. Before my lightning quick brain learned otherwise, I found one that had fallen off a transport truck. I had some concept, since I had seen the sugar beet factory, that they needed cooking to obtain sugar water. Soooo... I peeled it, cut into to serviceable chunks a plopped it into a large container of water which I brought to a boil.
Bad idea! It smelled of scorched beans or a chemical factory makeing death dealing stuff... I took the whole lot outside, even before Mrs. C told me to and chucked the whole mess in a hole I had dug. It's been years and still nothing grows there. The pot had to be thrown away. I feel luck that I didn't have to scrub and repaint the whole house....
So, short story, don't do that!
