Insurer not honouring no claims

I stopped driving in late June 2003, but Im now looking to start again and am looking for insurance. The problem is, I cant find an insurer who will honour my 5 years no claims bonus, as they say it becomes invalid after two years of not buying any insurance (I have not had a policy for almost 2 and a half years). Does any body know of an insurer who will honour this?
