I have just fitted a new radiator to my mk4 golf diesel. The hose going to the radiator is warming up when the car reaches temperature. But the hose returning from the radiator back to the engine isnt warming up that much. Is this normal? My brother has the same golf and his hose stays cool as well.

Top hose gets warm as the thermostat lets water through. Coller water is fed to the engine from the bottom so yes it should be cooler. Rad working as it should.
Coller water? sorry, that should be - cooler!!
