keyboard clip in laptop snapped...replacement/?

my mate snapped the tiny plastic piece that holds the wire from the keyboard and now most of the keys dont work.
where can i get a replacement>?

Put the ribbon cable in, push the broken clip into place as best you can and put a strip of insulating tape over the top of the whole lot and hope!

Otherwise you could buy a new complete connector and either try to replace just the clip (you'll probably break it though) or if you know somebody with the skills and equipment to do surface mount board repairs get them to change the whole connector (it's actually harder to remove the old one cleanly than it is to fit the new one). The connectors should be available from RS and CNC/Farnell... if you post a pic of the connector I'm sure somebody will point you to it.

Otherwise it's new mainboard time, check ebay....

(or just use the laptop with an external keyboard)
