Considering the the Dale farm eviction process has be going on for 10 years, with appeal after appeal dragging it on and on,are there too many appeal processes in law.Wouldnt it be better to have just one appeal by an impartial group and then thats it.It just seems to me to be a bit of a license to print money for the lawyers.

Good point Space Cadet - yes lawyers only depend on other people's misery.

So, what about when your pipe bursts - does your plumber "depend" on your misery?
what about when your electricity goes off - does your sparky "depend" on your misery?
what about when you discover subsidence - does your builder "depend" on your misery?
what about when your car breaks down - does your mechanic "depend" on your misery?

Brilliant point. Of course, all these tradesmen and others do their jobs out of the goodness of their heart - not because they have a living to make.

We all have to make a living - what sets us apart is how we do that. I am proud to call myself a lawyer. There are bad apples in every barrel, but don't tar us all with the same brush because some of us actually give a Sugar.
methinks there are a few who have had their lawyars/barristers 'failing' them.

Also some are going off-topic and attacking another poster which is SO wrong.
Barmaid.. If you feel that I have now removed the goalposts then perhaps it is time for us to discontinue conversation. I do not wish to go into matters from personal experience which would involve many Court appearances on behalf of a National Company for which I worked and, in some instances, knew what the outcome of the proceedings would be.

Ro9n.
PS. I know about the Law Society and its Complaints Procedures which do not really help the ordinary man or woman. I've been there and, to use modern vernacular, I have the 'T' shirt.

I'm sorry I'm absolutely with barmaid

Justice depends on having an advocate fighting to the best of their ability on both sides.

Or do you want to live in a country wherewe don't bother with proper trials and it's all decided on a nod and a wink - because there are quite a few of them around

And most of us profit from peoples misery - I don't think ambulance drivers work for free and Doctors and Dentists certainly don't so picking out lawyers is a bit daft
Hi Trim...Yes a proper shirt would be more 'Suitable'.

And there was I thinking Space-Cadet that you were on my side. Anyway we'll not make a legal issue of it. :-) lol
