ooh yes i think working your way through rural areas until you reach the coast is the best long term plan...
i live near the coat anyway so itd be easy
but id probably stay in my house for as long as possible... im lucky in that most of my living area in my house is on the first and second floor...ground floor is more storage etc, so i wouldnt be immediately noticable if i moved around inside ...
after as long as i could...and presumably when the zombies were getting weaker...id go for my car...and head to the nearest motorhome showroom...they are a bit out of the way so hopefully not many zombies about and get a decent sized motorhome.... then to a supermarket...or similar to stock up...probably smaller shops would be easier...easier to see the whole store for lurking zombies...and easier to ramraid perhaps...
then id try to fill up with diesel and as much fuel as i can
then id head off for the sea...find a boat and head off... id probably check out small islands like piel island that can only be reached by boat or walking across the sea bed a few times a day...chances of them doing that are slim i think, but at least youd have some degree of safety, as long as you kept an eye out.
id also have attempted to contact and pick up family etc if possible along the way.
i would also depending on the situation try to drain blood from a dead zombie and use it to 'line' the area..such as draw a circle round the property or use it so smear on posts etc, just to put them off a bit.
i would also use makeup etc to blend in if i need to go through them - although you risk being shot by other survivors if you do...though a big sign on your head saying - "im alive this is makeup! - dont shoot" could work - hahaha
another thought i had is chain mail outfits...or a wetsuit, with nails stuck through the rubber...and spiked collars and cuffs etc...
with time id make something great...like a porcupine haha
