Anyone know what has happened to Alan Green, Radio 5Live's football commentator?...I can't find owt on the BBC site. Ta Muchly.

He's apparently still writing for the Belfast Telegraph so I assume he's OK but I believe he has taken time off from the Beeb for 'personal reasons'

Many Thanks Calibax. Hmm, I wonder what those personal reasons would be?...could it be that he doesn't agree with the sycophantic pandering shown to an ex average football player or the pushiness of Drren (Motor Mouth) Fletcher?...these are my reasons and maybe he agrees.

A possibility (and it is only that) is that he was very scathing about Alex Ferguson a couple of weeks ago and so the BBC, having just got SAF to speak to them again after 7 years, have decided to give him a rest..

Ah, Thanks for that Bibb and I agree with what you say about Talk Sport and I think Steve that there's a lot more who talk rubbish than Mr Green, but they're seen as characters, totally unprofessional, but characters, but Alan speaks his mind and though you may not agree, he makes a whole lot more sense than these characters, who should be shipped off to Talk Sport where they would be more at home!
