Holes in Leaves

Hi, I am fairly new to gardening and this year I planted a honeysuckle, jasmine, clematis and some herbs, including sage. Most of the leaves on these have been eaten away. Can anyone tell me what to do about this. Should I be doing something now, or wait for the spring?
