Got an interview with M&S but it's only 12 hrs p.wk xmas temp work.Need full time work till I get a state pension in 14 mts time.Do i take it(presuming I pass the interview)and hope I get kept on or get offered more hours,or continue looking for something else?Your thoughts would be appreciate.
It wouldn't be fair to M&S to take it, then tell them later you're not going if something better crops up. Why don't you tell them at interview that you are hoping for full-time work, and would they take you on for more than 12 hours if you are successful at interview?
It's tough getting any job, particularly when you approach pension age, so I suggest that if the job interests you then go for it. If you don't get it, the interview experience may help you. iif you do get it you then have choices- work extra at M&S if you can, find another part time job to supplement it, or look for full time work somewhere
Take the job and if something better comes up after then just quit the part time. M&S are a massive company and won't find it hard to find someone to fill your gap if you leave. I wouldn't worry about their feelings.
I'd take the job too as full time work is not easy to find. This job might lead to more hours or you might be able to find other work to fit in around it; either way you're much more employable if you're employed.
