Not sure if this is question should be here but there doesnt seem to be a right place for it!!
Does anyone know of an reasonably priced infra red camcorder for night filming? You know the kind they use on "Most Haunted".

Thanks.

most of the sonys have night vision on the. Look on the specs for the lux figure

you can also add a IR lamp as even good sonys can find it hard to focus in a large pitch black room.

Many of our team use mini DV camcorders, either sony, jvc or panasonic though mine is an HDD camcorder.
My Sony TRV20 has nightshot .. amazing : )
Uses IR illumination from an emitter.
the sony IR lights are pretty pricey, but to start with you may find just the 0-lux is suitable for what you require. http://www.sony.co.uk...hes---lights/hvl-hirl

are you using it for most haunted type investigations?
There is a TRV30 on eBay right now.

Thanks for all the answers..... The trv20 and 30 are a bit dated, Im looking for something modern..... an SD card camcorder would be ideal
i cant help with recommendations for SD's as we prefer the mini-dvs for investigations and for viewing footage etc. but you do need to look for 0-lux as i said.
My TRV20 will do anything! Dated? lol
It is also a full-featured editing cam (which many are not) and will convert any input (like SVHS or stereo audio) to digital and pass on the fly direct to PC capture. Many even latest will not do that!
.. plus card storage on a cam is a joke. Severely restricts time and also read access speed.
a lot of new ones also did away with night vision. if you are using it for paranormal investigations you may want to start with an older model until you know more of what specs you want, you can never have too many cameras.
