Why are certain publications deliberately misleading the public on gay rights issues.

This is the true story about the changes to the British passport (and I checked it out with a quick call to the passport office):

For what reason would newspapers be pushing this agenda. They must've known the truth - so why deliberately stir up anti-gay sentiments?

I'm surprised they didn't blame it on Brussels while they were at it. Or on Amanda Knox, as Dr F points out.

Dunno - it seems dangerous to me. I mean, if it WERE true, it would be insane. Makes zero sense to change from 'Mother' and 'Father' to 'Parent 1' and 'Parent 2', but that's not what's happening.

So by omitting this fact, these publications are stirring up anti-gay feelings (just look at some of the responses to the pieces).

Aren't enough gay people being attacked without stories like this to stir the masses up???

but you are missing the point of the daily mail article. it is not to stress the change to the passport forms, this is a sub-plot.

the real issue, as the fable attests, is the invasion of gays and gay people acting gay in a gay way and marrying over gay people which is reallly gay. such gayness is of course contagious and should be stopped, and as suggested the only real 'final solution' is to whip them until they are straight so that they can have gay children the "normal" way.

To those who may not understand, this question is about newspapers putting spin in order to get their 'less inquisitive' reads frothing at the mouth, whereas the original question was proof that it works.
