neither! Leave it alone
Cold water is the only thing that should be put onto a burn
Not vaseline. Too greasy. Won't it trap in the heat? Go for the Savlon.

Did you still have enough left to drink?

I did apply a cold wet flannel as soon as I done it.
You weren't in McDonald's then?
Cold wet flannel straight away was best. Wouldnt bother applying vaseline.

cold water, don't put anything on it, will make it worse.

Never been in a Maccy D's ??

Cripes !

I thought everyone had. Although I'm not sure why, because the food is pants.
Can't remember the last time I was in Maccy D's - well the date I can't but can recall why it was the last time
I sat eating my McMuffin watching the girl clean tables. She then pulled out the bin and cleaned up the black slimy stuff with the same cloth, then continued to clean the tables with the same cloth *cue barfing noise*

Never, ever will I eat in there again, or any other fast food joint
Carlton, hope yr thigh feels better soon
Man up, Superman shouldn't whine about spilled coffee!! Sheesh, you big girl's blouse.

As folk have said, cold water running oner the affected area extracts the heat and minimises any damage done; the cold having a numbing affect too. Were it not something that will ease fairly quickly I'd advise your favourite pain relief tablet, but I suspect that wouldn't be needed after a short while anyway.
