Can we get Wayne Rooney, Darren Bent and Ashley Young a lyric sheet next time our national anthem is played before an international?

God save the Queen, eh? Well, what if (like me) you don't believe in the former and utterly despise the institution of the latter, even if you have no particular antipathy towards the actual person?
I think I'd find it difficult to ask implore a being which doesn't exist to save an institution which I firmly believe should be abolished...

this is a bit more inspirational version of ourNational Anthem and ought to be used instead of the boring German tune - though Rooney probably thinks the Queen is a transvestite appearing on a pole in the Baby Platinum club on the aptly-named Princess Street.

Its the same with the Welsh national anthem. Hardly anyone playing football or rugby knows this knows this. i learned it in school, and still remember it. Its wonderful!!!! "
The Welsh anthem is, IMO, the best anthem in the world and although I am a passionate supporter of Ireland rugby, tomorrow morning the hairs will rise on the back of my **** when they sing it before the game.
Perhaps if England had an English anthem rather than the dirge that is GSTQ they might sing it more enthusiastically. Or, for the footballers, one with words of one syllable only :-)
