Well, digital television shouldn't suffer from interference, but let's skirt over that issue and just say that your digibox isn't working properly. So, on to this new thing. The Freeview consortium (which includes the BBC) has bought the rights to broadcast terrestrial digital TV after the collapse of ON/ITV Digital. The Freeview box costs 99 and you'll get all the BBC TV channels (though I think you only get BBC Parliament in a quarter-screen-sized format, for some obscure technical reason), plus ITV1, ITV2, Five and various others. Other manufacturers are now producing their own boxes which may be cheaper and will get the same channels. Basically, if you're used to getting digital television through your aerial, then Freeview is just the same thing. Though perhaps you should try checking your aerial and the connection from your ITV Digital box to the TV before you shell out for a new box. (It's probably not worth paying to have it repaired if it is broken, though.)
