Good morning/evening
I opened what may have been a dodgy email (from Auspost) on a Toshiba laptop running up to date Avast free and Malwarebytes. Nothing was picked up so I ran various online scanners.
One (ESET) picked up a variant of win32/installCore.C application. As the laptop is fairly new I restored it 'back to the box' and have now installed Kaspersky (full version) plus Malware bytes.
Should it now be safe to do internet banking?

Just a generic type of trojan/worm.
Pretty easy to remove.

Thanks for that. I was a bit concerned that so many programmes hadn't picked it up.

As it was Eset that detected it, I'm just wondering why you chose Kaspersky instead?

Main reason Kaspersky was free through the bank and had good reviews.
