Well the main story was the dispute at Heathrow. He higlighted the job's of the strikers, main points:
- 18-30k
- 40 end of each day paid for changing clothes
- up to 2 hours allowed each day for loo breaks
- In some case they could do there alloted work as quick as they like but get paid for 8 hours even though they may have done less and then they can work on at double time.
Doesn't sound such a bad job to me!
He also went into the way the TGWU bullied people into an illegal strike.
I know you are going to say"how do I know that's true" well all the facts are easliy verifiable and journalists love to prove each other wrong so LJ's enemeis would have pounced on it if it wasn't true.
Yes, loosehead but RLJ is talking about the managers salaries. The Strike is about 800 workers who were sacked by megaphone after being given 20 mins warning. Management restructured 147 shopfloor workers earning 14000 per year to management grades then made them redundant. Workers were told to sign a new contract lowering pay and reducing terms and conditions or face the sack. They decided to strike and the dispute has rumbled on from there. The company is apparently facing bankruptcy and yet managed to raise management pay in the restructuring while attempting to cut shop floor workers pay.

Sorry everybody, but I think Richard Littlejohn is the best thing since sliced bread. I only used to buy the Sun on a Tuesday for his article. As I still do, to read Jon Gaunts articles. They tell it (I feel) as Mr and Mrs average think it is. Just heard that Blunkett has retired. Would he have done this, if it hadnt been for journalists like Littlejohn and Gaunt reporting it and been on his back all the time? Ive just returned from living abroad, sometimes I wonder why? Our British way of life is slowly being eroded away by the Goverment that is in power now. This goverment is responsible for all the racist problems that we have now. And it needs journalists like the two mentioned to keep hounding this Goverment and its MPs.
