I wouldnt bother with a booster. They positively do not work. I bought a good one and it made absolutely no difference at all. I even plugged it into my little bedroom telly to see if it would boost the reception of the normal channels that the in room ariel pick up. No difference again. Waste of money and a big con!
Try swapping the leads around though. When I first got a freeview box, I couldnt get anything but normal terrestrial tv either. But after messing about changing the leads around and trying different sockets I found the right combination and suddenly I picked up nearly all of the freeview channels. It'* *** and miss. j2buttonsw is right though, if you cant pick up channel 5 normally, you probably wont pick up freeview. Hope this helps!
I have never had a problem picking up channel Five so in theory i should be able to pick them all up. I shall have another go in case it is to do with the New ITV 4 channel that is being launched. I have also been told that i may need a more powerful ariel. Either way I shall let you know of my progress.
