Mister Cameron has now blamed the consumer for the high cost of heating our homes. it appears that we should all change to another cheaper supplier. what happens when you are with what you think are the cheapest and you still cannot afford the prices? is this the "old eton boys act" or is fuel really expensive because of the japanese nuclear power disaster? So, older people, some who have no computer will get a letter telling them to change suppliers (
over a million letters, postage cost unthinkable) but winter fuel payment cut. I am not a labourite, but it does worry me that the rich elite are ruling the country and treating us like children/peasents.

I have Gas central heating, costs a fortune, think I'll buy a portable gas heater for my living room, then I can buy cylinders when needed, and know what the heating is costing every month, and at least not worrry about the gas bill coming in!...........
Swings and roundabouts changing suppliers, they all have to increase their prices at some point. Old was is name........Maggie Thatcher was in power over thirty years ago, selling anything would surely have been adjusted by now. Thanks to Blair and Brown we are now in the deepest doodah ever. DTC is right they should have been put up against the wall and shot.
welshlibranr i use them it is a dear way of heating your home
long as you leave a window or door open welsh, or we will have a case of CO poisoning on our hands, especially if it is Calor.....(high in C4 isomers)
ok, point taken!......maybe not then!..........just pay the bill I guess!.....
yes, LPG is much more tied to oil prices than NatGas is......it occurs naturally as C3 and C4 (peopane and butane gases) and as a by-product from refining
Oh!.....so then I'll wear more layers of clothing then!........can't afford to turn the heating up!.....really hope this Winter is not like the last two!.......
I feel very sorry for not just the old and infirm when the weather is very cold, but for all those with young children who live in sub standard houses and are paying a high rent, and their dependency on councils and private landlords to execute repairs.
am scrambling the wood in here. Got about 5 acres of woods and field to scour for trees- actually could do with a good blow out to bring an old (seasoned) one down.
We just got our quarterly bill on-line and a message that they intend to put our DD payments up by £6 per month, although we are still quite a bit in credit. Mrask feels the cold now he is on blood thinning tablets, he'll be going to bed earlier then spending our days in M&S and Asda keeping warm.
DT, we're having a good blow here tonight!........so maybe you'll get lots of wood tomorrow!....wish we had a log burner!.....
Im still waiting for himself to install our wood burning stove - you'd think it would be in by now given that that is what his business is (good that he is so busy but I want my flipping stove).
Ha ha sherrard my friend's husband fits kitchens, but her kitchen needs refitting.
no log burner here, open fires and an aga.....the wind is out there but not that stiff yet (enough to burn a few leaves this pm - 1/2 burnt the rest into the bushes for compost).
'Strewth, we must be the only people praying for a gale. But then we might have to get the Lifeboat out and that costs the thick end of 2k for a launch.
and how did you end up cold and lonely on the street
