I do have hot flushes anne, just thought they had got worse. It was only just warm to the touch so not too bad, still had fan in the bedroom on all night as I was so hot.
just think of the electricity you will save now jan, without your fan. how long is it since gary died. ( i hope you dont mind me asking )
Blimey, where do you all live, Helsinki?!

It's been a tad nippy but nothing that my jogging bottoms and fleece dressing gown won't fend off!

I'll be disappointed if I have to succumb and put the heating on before Novemeber.

i love the idea of breathing out into a bag then shoving it up your jumper :)
Likewise, Philtaz.

I'm trying to avoid putting the heating on until around the beginning of November. (I was brought up in a house where Bonfire Night meant we could finally light a fire in the grate. Later, I spent 15 years teaching in a school where the heating couldn't be switched on until after the 'October break', irrespective of how cold it might be. It's too early yet to put any heating on!)
I too caved in last night!........I was so very cold!........
No, I don't mind, It's 3 months anne
OMG jan, i would have thought just a month, where does time go ? but nice to see you posting. take care.
I agree with anne, jan it doesn't seem that long ago!...good to see you back here, take care of yourself!..........x
Thanks, I have been around, just not posting much.
I'm just putting our heating on for the first time now.

Its been a beautiful day with blue skies and bright sun, but the clear sky has made it very cold this evening. I was close to putting gloves on to type and decided it was time to give in!
I gave in half and hour ago when I popped upstairs and came back down shivering. The lounge was the only warm room.
If you lot live south of Hadrian's Wall, can we come and visit??
It's baltic here and has been for at least 48 hours.
I can bring soup...
I went for a drive this afternoon with the top down on the car.............it was lovely.

dammit i moss my top down smartie :( going along with roof down and heating on - stuff the ozone layer
I put ours on yesterday after putting room thermometers everywhere (got them free at a police station open day - no idea why they were giving out thermometers). Thought it was just me getting old but even though they say 18 degrees (apparently, that's comfortable) I couldn't stand it any longer.
dammit i moss my top down smartie...............que?
'stuff the ozone layer '

couldn't agree more. But that's another subject :)
