What are your views on T3 - I have only just found out that T4 is not the only meds for Thyroid. I have joined the webpage Thyroid Uk and have found out some valuable info that I never knew. Also that there is natural thyroid hormone called Armour - I am wondering why my Endo has never mentioned any of this to me.
I have my appointment with him at the Nuffield tonight.

TSH is certainly low
T4 is a bit high.....but in my opinion within normal limits.
T3 is perfectly normal.
Correct me if i am wrong, but i seem to remember that your last tests indicated that you had swung to hyper and the low TSH would indicate that you are still hyper and as such i would agree with your Endo that your tiredness and depression was nothing to do with your thyroid.
Sorry Den....you know me, I would like to agree with you....but I can't in this case.
Did he reduce your thyroxine dose or keep it the same?

My last readings - 6 weeks ago were: 29.7 : T4 - 0.5 :TSH - 3.4 : T3
so a little improvement.
No, he has kept me on the same dosage 125/100 mg alternate days.
I questioned him about T3 meds, but he said they give a massive high but then will drop quite dramatically. He doesn't agree with natural thyroid hormone derived from pigs, and when I told him I had purchased a book by
Dr. Durrant Peatfield, he gave me a lecture on this man and said ignore all information in the book.
I am very reluctant to go on anti depressants, because they scare me.

I hope you don't mind if I use your thread again, to ask Sqad a question.
In 2006 my TSH was 4.93, T3 was 4.2 and T4 was 16.9
In 2007 my TSH was 1.97, T3 was 4.20 and T4 was 18.00
I've just noticed my T3 didn't change even though the TSH did. Is that ok? Or could that explain why I'm tired? Thank you

Hello, I saw the doctor today and she was reluctant to increase the thyroxine dosage, but has suggested I stop taking Simvastatin for a month to see if it makes any difference. I don't know any details of my thyroid reading, but the doctor said it was on the higher end.
I do sympathise with others on this thread, because this weariness is so awful.

Sorry to interrupt. Just wanted to say, Den, that you have no need to be worried or scared by antidepressants. They have been a life saver for me and I have been on them for years, and probably for life. They are not tranquilizers or knock out pills and the right antidepressant can make such a difference.
