..tomorrow morning's 3rd place play-off, that is. Yes it's Wales, yes it's quality opposition so should be a good game and yes I'll be up to watch it but I still can't raise any excitement about it.

Any other Taffs still feeling deflated and more than a little underwhelmed after last weekend's tragedy, especially at the thought of the final being a (potentially) massive anti climax?








Or am I the only one wallowing in stupefying self-pity?

horseshoes, yes we should be very proud of our squad, they played well, behaved well mostly on the pitch, and certainly off it, unlike some!......

Wales may be 4th in the RWC but in the world rankings they have just slipped below Argentina and Ireland (which doesn't make much sense, but they did lose three games, if not by much)

Yes welsh, we just need to maintain the momentum. We have an exciting squad of young players who have matured beyond their years in this World Cup and Welsh rugby could see the dawn of another truly golden era.

for me the only recent reminder of the golden era was Shane Williams, and he's about to retire, worse luck. And I don't know how much longer Adam Jones will be going. I don't know that any of the kids are as good as those two.

Hopefully one of them will be able to kick goals.

Good on you - they deserve proud faces - one of the the things that pizzed me off was the way the English came home, a smug "we do not care" attitude almost worthy of the English W-Cup soccer team.

Those two will be missed jno, however with the likes of Charteris, Lydiate, Priestland, North, Halfpenny, J. Davies and the monumental Warburton all just beginning to truly blossom on the world stage I have no doubts that Welsh rugby is on the cusp of something special.
IMHO, with his ethos, demeanour and talent Warburton will become one of the greatest Welsh players of all time.

actually, Faleatu deserves a mention - he's seriously good. I saw a stat saying he didn't miss a tackle in the RWC. Also breaks the gain line a lot.

I don't think he needs to work on any technique jno. As he and others have said the tackle was perfect, it was the way Clerc was turned and fell that made the tackle look worse than it was. From time to time every player is involved in such a tackle, i.e. where the body angles and physiques of the opposing players results in the sort of tackle we saw. Most players, ex players and pundits deemed him more than a little unlucky to have been 'pinged' for that one.
Warburton is hardly renowned for that type of tackle (unlike some of his international peers), which was reflected in his ban by the IRB being only 3 weeks.
That tackle aside he is nothing short of exemplary and his international and club colleagues obviously see him as something inspirational.
