Could somebody please advise me on a question that came up in a quiz last night it said "if you had an area of 5 metres long X 5 metres wide X 50mm deep what volume of ready mix concrete would you need to cover it" can anyone work this out & what is the formula for doing it?

5 x 5 x 0.05 = 1.25 Cubic Metres

12.5 cubic metres
if it was 5 x 5 x 1 it would require 25 cubic metres. But the depth is half a meter, so half 25=12.5

50mm is 0.05m
It has already been answered correctly.
It's 50 MILLIMETERES deep, Sandy, not 50 centimeters. So emeritus is correct.
Then I'm wrong. Maybe time for new glasses.

But if you were going to inter a body under such a large patio wouldn't you need a bit more than a mere 50mm?
