Hiya,can anyone tell me roughly how much it would cost to plumb in and connect up a 24 foot static caravan which is sited 15 yards from my bungalow? And if i let it out would it be liable for council tax and would i have to inform the council? Also as i currently work part time and recieve working tax credits would these be affected if i rented out the caravan. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, Laura.

you cant just plumb in a caravan and expect to be able to have anyone living in it without permission. Look at what happened at Dale Farm.

You will need all sorts of planning permission.
You would need to conform to all sorts of health and safety legislation as well.

you wouldn't have to "inform" the council - you would have to ask their permission. Are the working tax credits income based? If so, yes, if you get more income your benefits will be affected

It is very difficult to keep secret. Although you do not necessarily know it, there is always someone watching you and sometimes, no matter how nice you are, one of those someones might not like you. The next thing you know there will be another someone knocking at your door and asking you for all sorts of things because an informant has grassed you up. Very difficult as I said.

You'll need planning permission and you would be liable for Council Tax. Not an easy route to pursue I'm afraid.
