Here's what our top stars sound like when their voice autotune software packs in ...

And that's why, if you want to hear good music, you should go to the pub, buy a bottle of wine, listen to the person singing in the corner, and buy the CD they are selling from inside their guitar case.

tambo ... You wouldn't be sorry.

When you wander into The Lanes at lunch time, or in the evening, you so often hear music. You just follow the sound, and you find the pub where it's coming from.

It's really nice.

And it keeps people in pubs, so it boosts the licensed trade.

Here's a nice one too. One of my locals ... the Seven Stars ... (it's not as dingy as it looks, honestly) ... (okay, it is a bit dingy) ... but there's a nice view from the door, out into The Lanes.

These guys are called Harry's Tricks. The singer, Mike, has a real "Louis Armstrong" sort of voice.

Mark ...

It's funny you should say that.

They usually play without the violinist when they do pubs.

The guitarist is a guy called Matt. He is good, isn't he.
you pays ya money and takes ya choice jogger. people choose what they want to listen to if we all liked the same music it would be a bad thing !!
Cheryl Cole draws the young crowd and with a lot of these high profile stars they go to see her / him /group/ not listen to the music,
see how young kids are screaming for the guy on xfactor with birds nest hair, not a singer by any means but hes got a sex factor (not to me i may add) but that what sells these wana be's and established stars
Matt is clearly an excellent guitarist. He's got the acoustic jazz thing down pat, and provides the percussion with his strumming without sounding like he's scratching.

The violinist needs to practice his scales and arpeggios a lot more than he does, if at all. As soon as he tries to be "clever" and speeds up, he misses notes all over the place and his pitching goes out of the window!
Jayne...that last one, are you sure its a bloke? Fuzzy picture I admit, but it looks like a woman to me, and sounds like one too?

Also, no, didn't like the song at all in that one, if i was there i'd be downing my drink quicker than you can blink to get the hell out of there ASAP- sorry.

Mark, I've just noticed that their website (ultraswing.co.uk) doesn't feature the violinist at all.

And he's never with them in the pub.

I suspect he may be a bit of an interloper, LOL.

B00 ... in that clip, it is a woman singing.

It's the little old lady in the raincoat standing near the door.

This is the only clip I can find with Mike singing, and it's a bit fuzzy ...

Oh right, yeah, that's a bloke singing. Still....still not my cup of tea, sorry.

Well, that's was my little dissertation on ...

Why Brighton pub music is better than the X Factor or the Charts, LOL.
