Out of dates on food that you've frozen?
10 Answers
I bought two pack of sausages the other day and froze one pack. They are out of date on 26th October and I bought them on 20th October. If I thaw the frozen pack on say 27th October will they still have a 6 day period before they go out of date?

Any food that is heated to over 75 degrees (c) will have any bacteria destroyed anyway, so there is a vastly reduced risk.
I always think the supermarkets have a vested interest in customers believing that food is unsafe to eat after a short period of time, it is good business for them to have customers throw it away and then have to purchase more from them.
But if the item is frozen, there is no reason to defrost it and leave it for 6 days before you eat it anyway. Better to leave it in the freezer until you want to eat it!
