buying a house is stressful!
14 Answers
i am currently looking to move. We've had our house on the market for 8 weeks and only had 1 person view it. That person put an offer in at 25k below the asking price and when we declined their offer they upped it by 5k as a "final offer".
we have seen a house we would like to buy, but they are not budging on price and without us being near our asking price we can't afford to up it. We have put in our best offer today, but if they turn it down we'll have to turn down our offer too. GRRR house moving is hard!

Mind you the people in this bungalow had to drop considerably too to sell it to us. They were on for £199.999.
It was hell going through all that. Never again.

Sounds hideous, we just rent this place and getting all that together and then the actual packing, move (we didn't live together before this place) and then all the unpacking here was bad enough; If I had the additional buying pressure in then I think I'd have been main-lineing wine and ciggies just to keep sane!
we private rent and moving every so often is more stressful now with a toddler!!!!!! We moved oct last from a one bed flat after 3 years there, took me 2 months to pack and declutter. Then we moved again in May this year from a pokey 2 bed flat to a three bed house, every time we have moved ourselves, hubby has promised when we move again we get removal guys!!!!!
Jemisa you didn't lose £40k, you never had it to lose. No good thinking of it that way.
Bednobs I've been in your position and it's nerve wracking. I had to take a big hit on the last place I sold, against everyone's advice I might add. But time has proved me right as I have checked on t'internet and everyone who has sold a property in my road since I left has taken a bigger hit percentage-wise than I did. So think carefully before turning down an offer from a good buyer (someone who can proceed, has nothing to sell) as you might wish you had in a few months down the line.
