Having followed around 20 cars / HGVs down our local by-pass yesterday, there was an elderly Lady travelling at 20 / 25mph, the chaos she was causing brings me to the often asked Question, should persons over pension age be made to take a driving test?

If there is any doubt about our ability to drive, we can be asked to take a test again at 70. You're going to have difficulty in determining what Pension Age means these days - it isn't 60 any more for ladies!
Not a test as such but an assessment yes, for the over 70's.
not all older drivers are a danger, however over the age of 75 I think some sort of test should happen that deals with the affects of age such as vision, hearing, observation and reflex tests

I agree that you should be fit and able to drive, but that does not only apply to older people surely.? As for me, I have a three-year driving licence which has to be renewed regularly. I do not pay a fee for this I understand that after the age of 70, it is normal to have a three year licence.
