Even though you may get let off by appealing, it is still a big hassle that will cost you time and money. The only time I ever had to cross the white line slightly to let am emergency vehicle through was in the days before speed and traffic signal cameras. However I have had my fair share of red tape related motoring law hassle because someone else has a screw which makes a number 8 on their number plate look like a number 6 to a camera and as a result I keep getting their speeding tickets. They have a mighty heavy right foot. Despite the fact that the car in the photograph is a Focus and I drive a Vectra makes it easy to get the penalty reversed, I am now getting a tad fed up after having had six penalties to request reversal, follow up etc... especially if I am working abroad when the penalty arrives and by the time I get home a court date has been set.
