eat 16 quid worth of chinese. We were invited out for a birthday meal lastnight at an 'all you can eat' i went coz a good mate of mine but would not choose a place like that to eat. I cant eat that much and my bloke had half a bowl of chips, most expensive chips he's ever had. :-) i can see how they make their money.

Well when we get a chinese take-away it costs about £20 and we eat that so yeah, I guess so.

yep i know its a business, hence why i said 'i can see how they make money' i could probably eat it if forced but id much rather have a nice starter and meal at a pub for less. Any more than is needed just seems a waste to me.

tried calamari for first time. Mmmmm
Oh I absolutely hate these all you can eat, things. I hate the whole "queuing" thing. I find it really, really embarrassing and end up just getting a tiny plate, so I don't look greedy!
Probably not.

I got a Chinese last night, it came to £18 and half of it will be eaten this evening (if there's any left as I keep nibbling on it cold)
Tescos were selling low fat diet meals; bulk lettuce, shredded carrot, 1 mini tom, thumbnail sized cheese @ £3.50. I couldn't live on that daily
No...no where near. But I've been with people who can.
So let me get this right, you paid 16 squid for some calamari.
You was robbed.
I think its a false economy, I can only eat a portion of ribs and I am full or a portion of fried rice. that would only cost me about £4 quid. a £12 pound saving.
we went to an all you can eat place a few weeks back - you can eat your money's worth if you eat little and often through the evening, a couple of this, a bit of that - crispy seaweed, yum!
^^ and PS if we go to a trad place, Beefeater, or similar, we can usually only face one course - the portions are much too big for us these days.

i ate quite a bit, and my bloke would normally easily eat about 20 quids worth. But i felt people were eating loads for the sake of it.
I personally can't eat £16 worth of Chinese food - but if I went with my other half I would probably eat about £8 - then he'd eat his £16 plus my other £8 - so it works out OK.

Our average Chinese food delivery on a Saturday is £18 - nearly £7 of that is the other half's crispy duck starter.
Can you tell me the secret of this, firewatch? I would like not to put on any weight either.
