some shop work is available for 14year olds ,my daughter did this some years ago
why not contact all the local places (that you can get to - no point earning a fiver if your mum has to drive you there etc) and ask if they have anything suitable. Try kennels, vets, stables etc.
They can work in a kitchen as a washer upper in a restaurant or pub with limited hours. But not allowed behind the bar.

Here is some important information you should read. It's meant for parents but you should know any legalities also. TBPH-I think you'd be better off babysitting,as if you are good, and reliable, you can probably make more per hour than any minumum wage, both now,and when you do qualify for it.
This is a very good guide. If you want to work with animals check out your local stables and animal sanctuaries. Are there any open farms near you?

catteries and kennels often have weekend work..it isn't all emptying litter trays.
i was going to say i started waitressing at 14, but it was in a friends hotel stables is a good place to start.
Child soldier or child prostitute, perhaps?

Sorry that was meant to be a joke by the way. I can not be of any real help as you do not want to do paper rounds or babysitting. Those are the 2 main things a 14 year old can get, i am afraid.
Hi Ellie,

It's really nice to hear from someone of your age wanting to find a job.....

I've been in the pub/restaurant trade for many years, and have always tried to find part time jobs for people as willing as yourself.

If you have any restaurants near you, it is always a good idea to ask if they need any staff, although they will be simple jobs such as washing up or waitressing.

But it's always a good place to start - you get to meet loads of new friends and customers who might be able to find you something more suitable to your skills/hobbies.... (ie. one of my customers runs a dog's home)

The pay is not brilliant to start with, but if you are good to the customers, you can easily double your wages with tips...

But the main thing is - make sure you're safe at all times, especially if working late, get someone to pick you up etc. I'm sure you know all that stuff already........

Hope this helps,
let us know how you go on......

bob.
